JA The Resort Golf Course played host to the 2019 World Corporate Golf Challenge UAE Final on Saturday, 11th May with the winners of the various club qualifiers competing for a place in the World Final at the Oitavos Dunes Golf Club in Cascais, Portugal in the first week of July.
Peter Harradine’s fabulous golf course, recently ‘tweaked’ opening 3 holes to accommodate the new JA Lake View Hotel, offered a tough but fair challenge to the fourteen pairs that took part, and with almost perfect conditions, scoring was relatively high considering the testing format of combined Stableford.
Indeed, the winners Siddharth Dutta and Subhojit Biswas came in with 70 points, a full four points ahead of the runners-up Arjun Manghani and Rohail D’Souza, whose creditable 64 points was just one more than the third placed pair of Richie Kelly and Stuart Bell.
Incidental prize winners for nearest-the-pin competitions were Phil Jones and Sami Butt, whilst Damien Ward’s tee-shot on the 16th hole won him the longest drive prize.
Representing the tournament promoters OnCourse Golf, Gareth Mordey was eager to praise both the host venue, JA The Resort Golf Course, our UAE Finals Title Sponsor Sacoor Brothers, our sponsors Mediclinic, Palmers and 800 Batteries for their support. “It has been a very competitive season of qualifiers, as well as the host venue and our valued sponsors, we would like to acknowledge the support of the UAE golf clubs and the many, many golfers who have taken part since last September”.
Mordey went on to wish the best of luck to the winners, who will be flown to Cascais in July to enjoy a wonderful few days at the Oitavos Dunes Golf Resort, whilst representing the UAE in the highly competitive and superbly organized World Final.
